JAZA son to helm AC Motors

Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala is set to lead AC Motors.

Based on the Philippine Stock Exchange disclosure dated August 1, the son of Jaime Zobel de Ayala "is seconded to AC Industrials Technology Holdings” to head the company’s automobile arm.

To note, AC Motors is under AC Industrials umbrella that handles the distribution of Husqvarna, KTM, Kia, Maxus, and Volkswagen in the Philippines. It also has stakes in Honda and Isuzu’s local arm.

The disclosure shared that the young Ayala resigned from his post as the Ayala Corporation’s co-head of corporate strategy group, head of business development and digital ventures, and member of the corporation’s management committee effective last August 1. The aforementioned role will be taken by Mark Robert Uy.

Relatedly, AC Motors is also set to make a big announcement within the week following that is geared towards its thrust on electrified mobility.
