Jetour S08 i-DM breaks cover

MANILA: Jetour Auto Philippines has launched the S08 i-DM plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV).

The opulent sport utility vehicle (SUV) offers a new option for Filipino car buyers looking for a new seven-seater from the Chinese automaker.

Exterior

The Jetour S08 i-DM’s eye-catching appointment at the fore is its horizontally styled grillework paired with C-shaped LED daytime running lamps—making it look like a cross between the Kia Sorento and Nissan Patrol. 

Its side profile is highlighted by a set of two-tone wheels, complemented by chrome accents on the windows and lower portion of the bodywork. Since it targets the upmarket segment, it noticeably drops the typical cladding on the wheel arches and uses smooth bodylines and semi-concealed door handles to communicate a more premium design language. 

At the back is a tamed-looking bumper that goes with a full-width LED taillight and a power tailgate.

Interior

The cabin of the Jetour S08 i-DM packs elegant amenities, such as leather upholstery, adjustable front seats with heating/ventilation, an onboard refrigerator, and an automatic air conditioning with a negative ion generator. 

In terms of technology, it gets a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Audio is handled by a 12-piece speaker system, controllable via a four-zone voice control unit.

Other features include a 50-watt wireless smartphone charging dock, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and a 360-degree view camera.

Powertrain

Under the hood of the Jetour S08 i-DM SUV is a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor and a dedicated hybrid transmission. 

The internal combustion engine makes 140 horsepower (hp) and 215 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque, while the electric motor adds 201 hp and 310 Nm.

Range-wise, it offers 89 kilometers (km) of pure electric driving.

Pricing

The Jetour S08 i-DM stickers for P1.798 million, with a limited introductory price of P1.698 million.
