LOOK: Renderings of F1 Jeddah Street Circuit’s pit and team building
With the inaugural Saudi Arabian Grand Prix of Formula 1 set to happen in December this year, race organizers have shared the latest renderings of its pit and team building.
In an article on Formula1.com, the heart of the Jeddah Street Circuit (which promises to be Formula 1’s fastest-ever street track), will “overlook the starting grid and back on to Jeddah’s majestic Red Sea coast.”
The 280m-long, four-storey building, designed by Tilke architect Ulrich Merres, “takes the form of a composed landscape of multi-storey staggered buildings.”
The structure will have all the team garages in it and will also house the race control center as well as the exclusive Paddock Club premium hospitality suites that provide guests a view of the pit lane and starting grid.
Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) Chairman Prince Khalid Bin Sultan Al Abdullah Al Faisal said, “The Pit Building stands as a symbol of all that this race represents: welcoming, modern and spectacular."
He continued, “With only six months to go until the pinnacle of motorsport reaches Saudi Arabia, preparations are progressing at an incredible rate as our dedicated team gears up for the first-ever Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. We can’t wait to welcome you to Jeddah next December for a weekend of record-breaking racing and world class entertainment."
The track measures 6.175 kilometers and has a total of 27 corners. Based on simulations, F1 cars on the Jeddah Street Circuit can hit an average speed of more than 250kph.
