LTO Mulls Colored License Plates for TNVS Units
Much like how public utility vehicles and government vehicles have their own respective colors--black on yellow for the former and red on white for the latter--the Land Transportation Office (LTO) is reportedly mulling the idea of issuing to registered Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) units their own, color-coded license plates.
The news was relayed to select members of the media by Inter-Agency Council for Traffic (i-ACT) spokesperson Atty. Aileen Lizada who said that LTO chief Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante recently relayed the plan to the joint government task force.
The LTO though will concentrate first on finishing the backlog of license plates for private vehicles before it begins discussing the guidelines and color scheme of the TNVS plates with the I-ACT and other concerned government agencies.
Lizada said though that the measure will benefit her agency's operations since it will be easier for them to enforce the laws concerning TNVS units.
