LTO to Open Self-Renewal Kiosks in Malls
Soon, waiting for hours to renew your license will be a thing of the past. Thanks to Land Transportation Office's (LTO) "self-renewal kiosk," it will be easier for motorists to renew their license anywhere.
According to LTO OIC for Mid-Records Farrah Mangadang, these kiosks will placed in different malls in the country. This will allow motorists to personally process and renew their licenses conveniently.
The renewal kiosks will come with fingerprint scanning and cameras for face verification. Drivers or motorists can also use it to check for any past violations or possible discrepancies that need to be dealt with first before they can renew their license.
Here are the steps on how to get an ID renewal using the kiosk:
- Choose your language (English or Tagalog)
- Type in your LTO Client ID
- Choose what kind of license you want to renew
- Go to the biometrics verification
- Check the amount you need to pay
- Wait for it to be processed and get the printed receipt
All renewed licenses will be mailed to each individual via courier services. Those who are on a tight budget can just get their license from any LTO office nearest to them.
Despite plans for these kiosks, LTO will still continue to offer license renewals in their branch offices.
