Latest EO identifies allowed officials to possess such plates

MANILA: President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has instructed for the regulation of protocol license plates.

    In the same order, the country’s chief executive cited the government officials who are allowed to use the said license plates.

    The order stated that officials with equivalent ranks may be allowed to use upon the recommendation of the Land Transportation Office and approval from the Department of Transportation.

    “However, this shall not be construed to authorize all other officials with equivalent rank as the associate justices of the CA, CTA, and Sandiganbayan and below to use the license plates,” the order noted.

    Those who have been issued the special plates are allowed to use it on vehicles that are assigned to them during their incumbency.

    Authorized officials may be allowed to have two pairs of protocol license plates, except for the President, Vice President, Senate president, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Supreme Court Chief Justice who can have three pairs.
