KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How many units is MDPPA planning to sell in October-December 2025?

The group is eyeing to retail 395,000 examples for the final three months of the year.
  • What makes MDPPA's 2025 sales target significant?

If reached, the nearly 1.8 million-unit sales churn shall serve as the group's highest performance yet since its inception.
  • Per MDPPA President Alexander Cumpas, the organization — composed of Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, TVS, and Yamaha — delivered a total of 1,398,314 motorcycles in January-September 2025.

For October until the end of the year, they are eyeing to hand over some 395,000 units more to their respective clients.

    Other stories:

The group’s revised goal — which is 1.5 percent higher compared to its previous target — will be 6.5-percent higher than 1.681-million units retailed in the full 12 months of 2024.

When reached, the 1.798-million example sales churn will be the organization’s all-time highest retail output since the group made its inception in 1973. Back then, the group was called Philippine Motorcycle Manufacturing Program (PMMP).

To note, the latest MDPPA sales forecast for the whole year is 1.5-percent higher compared to the projected retail volume for 2025. If reached, it would be the organization’s highest retail performance.

    Sales per category

Providing the strongest push in MDPPA’s year-to-date sales as of September 2025 are from the scooter segment, which cornered 65 percent of the overall volume.

Models under business category had 17-percent of the group’s total sales for January-September this year while mopeds held 16.2 percent.

Considered a niche market, leisure bikes (street bikes and big bikes) grabbed the remaining 2.7 percent.

    Forecast for 2026

Further, the MDPPA sales forecast for next year is about 1.86 million motorcycles – a four-percent growth versus their assumed result for 2025.

The sales growth difference in terms of percentage for 2026, Cumpas expressed firm belief, will be affected by lesser government spending.
