Mitsubishi Motors PH releases Triton GX 2WD AT

MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors has added a new automatic transmission option for the Philippine-retailed Triton.

Called the GX 2WD AT variant, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC), said that the model is designed to “bring comfort and true pick-up performance to more Filipinos at a more attainable price” — carrying a campaign tagline, “All Grit, No Clutch.”

Prior to the addition of the new trim (retailed for P1.435 million), the company’s most affordable version of the Triton with an automatic transmission is the GLX 2WD AT, which is priced at P1.735 million.

According to the Japanese marque’s local distributor, the Mitsubishi GX 2WD AT option delivers the toughness expected from a Triton while offering everyday driving comfort that fits modern lifestyles.

Under the pickup truck’s hood is the 2.4-liter turbocharged diesel engine that has the capacity to deliver as much 177.5 horsepower and 430 Newton-meters of torque. Power is sent to the wheels in two-wheel-drive configuration is its six-speed automatic gearbox.

Inside, the cabin comes with hard plastic and fabric portions while its air-conditioning system’s controls are composed of knobs. However, this specific option is equipped with an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen with a reverse camera — features that are normally seen on its higher-priced competitors.
