Mitsubishi PH updates Xpander MPV

MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Philippines has updated its best-selling Xpander multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). 

The latest iteration of the nameplate adds new exterior and interior cosmetic upgrades, as well as some useful technological and mechanical updates. 

Here’s a quick breakdown of what’s new with the Mitsubishi Xpander MPV.

Exterior

One of the most noticeable changes to the vehicle is its new grille, which now boasts fine groove air intakes that make the Mitsubishi Xpander look more sophisticated. The upper portion of the fascia looks like a fluted watch bezel as it follows the pattern of the refined latticework. 

Adding an element of opulence is the satin chrome garnish that connects the new, sharper daytime running lights. 

Further, the MPV now has a new front bumper. The said appointment not only houses the fog lamps but also connects to the side sill garnishes of the automobile. And while we’re already on the topic of its side profile, the Mitsubishi Xpander now rides on new two-tone 17-inch wheels. 

Rounding up the new exterior features is a rear bumper that mimics the look of what can be found at the fore.

Interior

Inside, the new Mitsubishi Xpander gets an updated steering wheel, much like that of the XForce. Past it is a new eight-inch instrument cluster paired with a new 10-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 

Those sitting in the second row will notice that the center seat now has a headrest. 

Mitsubishi gave the Xpander MPV a blacked-out interior. 

Tech, mechanical upgrades

The new Mitsubishi Xpander now has a multi-around-view monitor, which helps drivers get in and out of tight parking spots. 

More importantly, it now gets active yaw control — a feature that was previously only offered to the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross.

On the other hand, the Mitsubishi Xpander'stable range-topper gets an updated grille, this time looking more akin to the Triton. The new lower front bumper added some level of ruggedness to the MPV, thanks to the vertical guards that is similar to an overrider. 

It also gets a set of new 17-inch wheels. 

The rear end of the new Mitsubishi Xpander Cross gets the same vertical guards motif to reinforce its more robust image. 

Similar upgrades can be found inside the MPV, but the interior is swathed in burgundy and black surfaces — much like that of a Mitsubishi Montero Sport.
