MMDA announces road closures, rerouting plans in Manila for upcoming Bar exams

Road closures will be implemented within the vicinity of three universities in Manila starting tomorrow until Sunday in line with 2020/21 Bar examination.

  • As shared by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the Manila Police District will close the following portions to vehicular traffic from midnight onwards with the affected motorists being advised to take the alternate routes:

    University of Santo Tomas (UST)

    • Westbound lane of España Boulevard from Arsenio H. Lacson Avenue to P. Noval

    Re-routing:

    • Motorists that will use the westbound lane of España Boulevard shall turn right at A.H Lacson, left to Dapitan or left to A. Mendoza to point of destination;
    • Motorists from southbound of Arsenio H. Lacson Avenue shall go straight to Nagtahan to point of destination.

    Far Eastern University (FEU)

    • Westbound lane of N. Reyes Street from España Boulevard to Claro M. Recto Avenue

    Re-routing

    • Motorists from España Boulevard that will use westbound lane of N. Reyes Street shall turn right to P. Campa Street, turn left to A. Mendoza going to Claro M. Recto Avenue to point of destination.

     De La Salle University (DLSU)

    • Southbound lane of Taft Avenue from Quirino Avenue to Estrada Street

    Re-routing

    • Motorists utilizing southbound lane of Taft Avenue going to Makati or Pasay area shall turn right to Quirino Avenue, left to Adriatico to P. Ocampo to point of destination;
    • Motorists traveling eastbound of Quirino Avenue planning to take southbound lane of Taft Avenue going to Makati or Pasay area shall turn right to L. Guinto St., right to Estrada Street, left to Taft Avenue to point of destination.

    MMDA Chair Benhur Abalos

    Stop-and-go traffic scheme will be implemented on España Boulevard, N. Reyes Street, and Taft Avenue during the drop-off of bar examinees.

    Further, motorists are advised that parking within the vicinity of the aforementioned venues is prohibited before and during examination.

     The actual time of closing and opening of affected roads will be based on actual traffic situation, the MMDA shared.
