NLEX Harbor Link Right-of-Way Acquisition at 95%
The leadership of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Thursday announced that the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Harbor Link is nearing its completion as they are currently fast tracking the remaining Right-of-Way (ROW) acquisition needed to complete the section between Karuhatan, Valenzuela segment to C3 Road in Caloocan.
Public Works Secretary Mark Villar said that the remaining right-of-way is now 95 percent complete. The ROW for Valenzuela is currently at 96 percent with Caloocan at 86 percent.
DPWH Director for Developments Nemesio Castillo said that the target completion for the ROW delivery and Bored Piling is by end of 2018.
"This will be one of the bypass roads of EDSA. A little more push and this will be finished," Villar assured, adding that they will continue to exert efforts to immediately finish the project.
DPWH Director for Public-Private Partnership Alex Bote said that once completed, the NLEX Habor Link would ease the traffic in Metro Manila. According to him, the completion of the Harbor Link would not just benefit the motorists using the expressway, but also those that are using the current thoroughfare for trailers.
On Thursday, Villar and NLEX Corporation led by Senior Vice President for Tollway Development and Engineering Raul Ignacio led the inspection of the NLEX Harbor Link segment 10--an 8.25-kilometer elevated expressway that stretches from Valenzuela, passing through Malabon, Caloocan and Navotas at Radial 10.
