Brace for heavy traffic: NLEX starts Meycauayan River Bridge improvement
MANILA: Motorists can expect heavy traffic jams in the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) as the major bridge improvements on the Meycauayan River Bridge has commenced.

“Please expect travel delays while this project is ongoing. We appreciate our customers' understanding as we complete these works. This short-term inconvenience will result in smoother and safer travel along this stretch of the NLEX,” NLEX Corporation President and General Manager Luis Reñon said.
Photo from NLEX CorporationWith this, NLEX Corporation will close one lane at a time during weekdays — with the remaining four lanes opened to traffic during the weekend rush hours.
Aside from that, one lane of the East Service Road, between Ever Memorial Park in Lawang Bato, Valenzuela, and Libtong, Meycauayan, will being utilized as a compensating lane for vehicles traveling north.

To address possible traffic jams, a counterflow scheme will be implemented for Manila-bound motorists while the East Service Road will continue to serve northbound traffic.
Additionally, Traffic marshals and directional signs will guide motorists during the project.
