It's officially official. A month after we first reported about it, Motostrada Inc. has officially been appointed by Ferrari S.p.A. "as the exclusive general distributor and dealer of Ferrari sports cars, spare parts, service, accessories and merchandise in the Philippines." In essence, Motostrada Inc. has officially taken over the distribution, sales, and servicing of Ferrari in the Philippines, a year after Motostrada Inc. Chairman Dennis Uy stepped in as a partner with Autostrada Motore, Inc., Ferrari's most recent distributor in the Philippine market. "It is our pleasure to be appointed as the general distributor of Ferrari S.p.A. in the Philippines and have the privilege to be the stewards of the strongest automotive brand in the world," said Uy. Uy is no stranger to heading profitable business ventures. A businessman from Davao City, Uy is the founder of Udenna Corporation, which has stakes in more than 50 different companies across various industries--one of which is Phoenix Petroleum. "There is a reason why Ferrari sports cars are so popular in the Philippines and we are committed to offering the complete Ferrari experience to each and every one of our customers," said Motostrada President Ginia Domingo. "Extremely beautiful sports cars, coupled with strong aftersales support and backed by a dedicated team, we'll ensure that we will truly impress the most discriminating car lovers. We are excited to bring Ferrari to more Filipino motorists." Domingo is no stranger as well to the local automotive scene, having started with Toyota in 1998 as a marketing assistant before moving on to General Motors Philippines--when it still had an official presence here--and Ford Philippines. Prior to joining Motostrada, Domingo was the president of Columbian Autocar Corporation, Kia's then-official local distributor, from February 2011 to November 2018 prior to the change in Kia's local distribution to AC Industrials, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ayala Corporation (AC). Uy reportedly met Domingo when the former made a play for the acquisition of Kia's distribution. With Domingo's experience in the industry, Uy quickly tapped her to head Motostrada once she became available. Ferrari is looking forward to Motostrada's handling of its legendary marque as it finds the right partner that understands the local market and can offer the level of service, professionalism, and performance that will deliver "the inimitable Ferrari standard." "We have full confidence that Motostrada will be able to meet the rising needs of Filipino customers and to consistently provide the best dealer experience," said Ferrari S.p.A. Far & Middle East CEO Dieter Knechtel. "We look forward to a successful and fruitful future together." Now, if only something can be done to eliminate the confusion between Motostrada, the Ferrari distributor, and Motostrada, the MV Agusta, distributor...
