Ogier, Ingrassia Bag Fifth Win in Rally Mexico
Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia secured their fifth win in the World Rally Championship in Mexico.
The Round 3 WRC win is their eight win for Citroën.
Following Ogier-Ingrassia tandem were Ott Tänak and co-driver Martin Järveoja and teammates Elfyn Evans and Scott Martin for second and third place, respectively.
The latest win puts Citroën only four points behind championship leader Toyota Gazoo Racing.
The Citroën C3 WRC crew duly confirmed their 46th WRC victory in an event where their outstanding career started with a win in the FIA Junior WRC Championship back in 2008.
According to Ogier, the recent win was considered to be one of his challenging wins.
"It has been a very challenging weekend and definitely not one of my easier wins. This is becoming a trend on the WRC now. Never easy conditions and more challenging than the last years. So many drivers were getting into trouble and so many cars retired. There were issues for us as well," Ogier was quoted in the press conference.
