Oil firms to implement 'staggered' fuel price hikes

MANILA: The Department of Energy (DOE) shared that local oil players can will implement staggered price adjustments spurred by the conflict in the Middle East. 

Per the agency, the tables below reflect the agreement of both the DOE and oil companies to execute the price hike in tranches to make it easy on motorists. 

“Paunti-unting ipatutupad ang nakaambang dagdag-presyo sa produktong petrolyo matapos magkasundo ang Department of Energy at mga oil companies, upang hindi biglaang maramdaman ng mga konsyumer ang epekto ng sitwasyon sa Middle East sa presyo ng langis (the pending price increase in petroleum products will be implemented gradually after the Department of Energy and oil companies reached an agreement, so that consumers do not suddenly feel the impact of the situation in the Middle East on oil prices),” the country’s energy department wrote in a social media post. 

“Hinihikayat din ng DOE ang iba pang oil companies na magpatupad ng katulad na hakbang at ipatupad ang pagtaas ng presyo nang paunti-unti upang makatulong na maibsan ang epekto nito sa mga konsyumer (The DOE also encourages other oil companies to implement similar measures and implement the price increase gradually to help alleviate its impact on consumers),” it added.
