O&J PH brings in Jaecoo J7 SHS

MANILA: Omoda and Jaecoo Philippines has just launched the J7 SHS to the local market.

The formal launch followed the model’s preview at this year’s Manila International Auto Show 2025 held last April.

In a statement, the firm noted that the nameplate’s introduction in the country provides car buyers a new choice in the new energy vehicle segment and serves as a “formidable contender in the aforementioned category.

“With its super low fuel consumption, super range, and super performance, Jaecoo J7 SHS is poised to deliver an unprecedented driving experience for local consumers, positioning itself as the one and only choice in the country's hybrid vehicle segment,” the company shared.

The Jaecoo J7 SHS is equipped with an OJ Super Hybrid System made up of an electric motor that powers the front wheels and is mated to a fifth-generation 1.5-liter direct inject turbo gasoline engine (acting as range extender).

The aforementioned drivetrain — which offers Full Electric, Series Hybrid, Parallel Hybrid, and Energy Recovery (regen) drive modes — is mated to a dedicated hybrid transmission and an 18.3-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery.

Such a powertrain combination has the capacity to dish out:

Based on the Verification Range Test that the Automobile Association Philippines conducted earlier this year, the vehicle exceeded the published extended range of more than 1,200 kilometers (km) after its evaluators covered 1,488.8 kilometers on a full fuel tank and a single charge.
