Petron supports 2021 Highway Run with Mad Dog Motorcycle Club

2021 Highway Run

Petron Corporation stood as one of the organizers of this year’s Highway Run to celebrate the 14 years of motorcycles with engine displacements of at least 400cc being allowed on expressways.

Held last October 2, the commemorative event was initiated by Mad Dog Motorcycle Club — the same group that spearheaded the advocacy to open up Philippine toll roads to large-displacement motorcycles. It was back on September 28, 2007 when the Toll Regulatory Board with the then Department of Transportation and Communication granted the petition.

The event last October was attended by over 500 riders who gathered at two venues — Petron San Pedro Laguna on the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), and at Petron Pura Tarlac along the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX). All participants received commemorative limited-edition Highway Run stickers.

Aside from the tribute ride, Petron held a special promotion wherein eligible riders were able to avail of three liters of Petron Sprint 4T Fully Synthetic Motorcycle Engine Oil.

Since motorcycle engines are operating at high revs with only a low oil volume, the range of Petron Sprint 4T Engine Oils are specially formulated to "calm" the engine.

For one, the Petron Sprint 4T Fully Synthetic Motorcycle Engine Oil (SAE 10W-40) offers protection against wear and corrosion, engine cleanliness for performance, and has the stability to resist oil thinning and breakdown, as well as notable friction characteristics for clutch performance.

“As a top-tier engine oil specially formulated for modern, high-performance motorcycles under extreme driving conditions, the Petron Sprint 4T Fully Synthetic Motorcycle Engine Oil is most suitable for the powerful performance machines favored by big bikers,” Petron claimed in a statement.

For his part, Mad Dog President Dustin Andaya also said that Petron serves as the perfect meeting place to celebrate the annual Highway Run.

“Comfortable restaurants, stores, and facilities make it a favorite take off point and stop over for many motorcyclists. On top of that, their gasoline and motor oil products are a popular choice for many motorists looking for higher performance from their engines,” Andaya was quoted as saying.

In addition to the Mad Dog Motorcycle Club and Petron Corporation, the 2021 Highway Run also received support from BMW Motorrad, and SMC (San Miguel Corporation) Infrastructure.
