SAIC, Ayala conclude Maxus distribution partnership
MANILA: SAIC Motor Corporation Limited (SAIC) and AC Industrials have formally ended their partnership for the distribution of Maxus vehicles in the Philippines.

SAIC Motor began operating in the country in 2023.The Ayala-led firm issued a statement, saying that the move is a strategic step for the two companies that will let both to “realign and focus on their respective core strengths in response to shifting market dynamics.”
Such a move was anticipated as early as 2023 when SAIC Motor then became Morris Garages’ (MG) official distributor in the country, and tapping some models under the British-bred marque.
To recall, AC Industrials — through its mobility arm ACMotors — gave Maxus its local debut in 2019.
With MG no longer part of ACMobility’s portfolio, the company can now focus on being the local distributor BYD, Kia, and Volkswagen vehicles.
“As this chapter concludes, AC Industrials takes pride in having played a role in Maxus’ growth within the dynamic Philippine automotive industry,” AC Industrials Mobility Group Head of Strategy Dana Uson was quoted as saying.
“This transition reflects our continued focus on shaping the future of mobility, and as the industry evolves, we remain committed to advancing innovative and sustainable mobility solutions for the Philippine market,” she added.
Meanwhile, SAIC Maxus International Limited Head of Overseas Business Frank Wu shared that the Chinese marque’s appreciation to AC Industrials for the strong partnership amid a changing mobility landscape.
“We are grateful to AC Industrials for their dedication and collaboration over the past seven years,” he said.
“Their efforts laid a strong foundation for Maxus in the market, and we remain committed to supporting Filipino customers and partners as we continue to expand our global presence.”
Upon checking the company website, Maxus mentioned that customers will continue to receive full support and service at its Alabang Service Center located at Investment Drive, Madrigal Business Park, Muntinlupa.
