SAIC Motor PH confirms MG Cyberster arrival

The arrival of the MG Cyberster in the local market has been confirmed after SAIC Motor Philippines previewed the vehicle today.

The electric sports car’s reveal in the Philippines was conducted months after Carmudi Philippines received a tip from a reliable source that the vehicle will be sold in the local market by 2024.

At today’s event, SAIC Motor Philippines announced that the MG Cyberster will have its official unveiling come the initial half of next year. However, the company has not yet shared any information — including the pricing— regarding the previewed model.

Overseas, the MG’s electrified offering is powered by dual electric motors that can deliver a peak output of 544 horsepower and 725 Newton-meters of torque. The mill lets the car run 100 kilometers per hour from standstill in 3.2 seconds.

Last week, the MG Cyberster entered the Southeast Asian market through the brand’s distributor in Thailand. Per MG’s arm in the Land of Smiles, the vehicle has a 77-kilowatt-hour battery option. It also has independent double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension.

Earlier, Carmudi Philippines quoted the unnamed source that the MG Cyberster in the Philippines could be within sub P4 million.
