MG Cyberster enters ASEAN region

The speculation about the MG Cyberster reaching the Philippine market gets stronger as the purely-electric vehicle offering has just entered the ASEAN region.

Through the brand’s distributor in Thailand, SAIC Motor brought the electrified two-seater convertible. It is currently on display at the Challenger 1, Impact Muang Thong Thani up to December 11.

Presented in left-hand-drive lay-out, the MG Cyberster wowed the crowd at the event with its overall aesthetics, automatic Scissor Doors, and wine-red interior composed of exceptional materials.

The displayed model is equipped with dual motors that has the capability to provide a maximum churn of up to 544 horsepower and pulling power of 725 Newton-meters — propelling the to 100 kilometers per hour from standstill in 3.2 seconds.

According to MG Sales (Thailand), the vehicle is fitted with independent double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension as well as a 77-kilowatt-hour battery. The concept version is said to have a range of as much as 800 kilometers.

Last September, Carmudi Philippines received information that the Cyberster will be offered in the Philippines come 2024. A reliable source said that the pricing of the vehicle could be within sub P4 million.
