Suzuki PH names 2 incoming dual sport models for 2025

MANILA: Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH) is set to introduce the DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM to the local market within the year.

First shown to the public at last year’s EICMA (Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori), the two nameplates made their appearances in the country at the ongoing Makina Moto Expo 2025.

The Japanese motorcycle marque’s local arm shared that the soon-to-be-offered offerings embody the “Ready for Play” look and performance.

Here are some bits of information about the two models’ specifications overseas.

In terms of aesthetics, the two dual sport models are outfitted with unassuming design cues made up of:

• LED projector
• LED position lights incorporated into the turn signal assemblies
• Pointed lines and flush bodywork

To recognize one from the other, the Suzuki DR-Z4S is fitted with knobby rubbers, while the DR-Z4SM, road tires. Their sizes also vary as seen in the table below:

Both models are slapped with full digital cluster gauges that shows real-time operating status information as well on-board systems.

The revised four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, double overhead cam, 398-cubic-centimeter engine (mated to five-speed constant mesh transmissions that powers both motorcycles sip their fuel from their respective 8.7-liter tanks.

Further, the mills boast the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS) that has electronic rider-assist functions that include:

• Suzuki Drive Mode Selector
• Suzuki Traction Control System with Gravel mode
• Ride-by-wire Electronic Throttle System
• Anti-lock braking system switch (with a choice between front and rear off or rear only off settings)
• Suzuki Easy Start System

Below are the models’ average fuel consumption (based on World Motorcycle Test Cycle):

• DR-Z4S: 28.4 kilometers per liter (kpl)
• DR-Z4SM: 29.4 kpl

SPH has yet to announce the pricing of the two models but clarified that they are planning to start to retail them within the latter part of the year.
