Suzuki PH brings 2nd-gen GSX-S 1000, available for P710k

Suzuki Philippines Inc. (SPH) over the weekend has unveiled its latest version of the GSX-S1000, which is now fitted with a more striking package.

Priced at P710,000, the all-new 2022 GSX-S1000 is engineered to be an agile and rider-friendly street sport bike that provides its rider comfort, controllability and commanding performance.

Featuring an aggressive stance, this naked street bike has a minimalist cowling and upswept sharp lines that surround hexagonal LED headlights to form the compact face of its radical new design. These lines continue up to the fuel tank design (that can now hold 19 liters unlike the previous version’s 17-liter capacity), depicting the second-generation Suzuki GSX-S1000’s overall athletic design.

Powering the all-new 2022 Suzuki GSX-S1000 is the 999cc four-stroke, DOHC liquid-cooled inline-four engine paired to a six-speed constant mesh transmission. According to SPH, “updates and refinements were aimed to deliver smoother, more consistently powerful output, particularly through the low- to mid-range speeds which are most commonly used in daily riding.”

 To ensure smoother deceleration and better control when downshifting, the all-new 2022 Suzuki GSX-S1000 is its Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS).

Further, the all-new 2022 Suzuki GSX-S1000 has a host of advanced electronic systems with the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS) that helps the rider optimize its performance output to suit one’s riding style. These are the following:  

• Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS): gives the rider three different output characteristic modes to match individual riding preferences in differing conditions, such as being out for a sporty run or participating in a track day event, riding over slippery or rough roads, or just enjoying a leisurely stroll on city streets.
• Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS): offers five mode settings + OFF that provides control over diverse conditions reducing stress and fatigue. This new ride-by-wire electronic throttle control system is simpler, lighter and more compact than the previous mechanical throttle.
• Bi-directional Quick Shift System: (on/off) helps dish out quicker, smoother upshifts and downshifts without operating the clutch lever to help prevent missed shifts, and reduces fatigue.
• Suzuki Easy Start System: turns on the motorcycle with just a quick press of the button without the need to pull the clutch lever.
• Suzuki’s Low RPM Assist: further develop to work in conjunction with SCAS and make pulling away from a standing start even smoother and easier.

The all-new 2022 Suzuki GSX-S1000 has a compact, twin-spar aluminum frame design that guarantees high rigidity and light weight to ensure nimble handling and road-holding performance. This newly-released model has widened handlebar grips (23mm wider) and has a refreshed seat design.

This street sport bike sits on six-spoke, cast aluminum wheels that are fitted with Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport2 tires. It also features KYB Inverted front forks and equally adjustable link-type rear suspension.

Providing the stopping power are four-piston Brembo mono-block front brake calipers with anti-brake lock system mated to floating-mount dual discs.

The 2022 all-new Suzuki GSX-S1000 is being retailed in three color options: Metallic Triton Blue, Glass Matte Mechanical Gray and Glass Sparkle Black and will be available starting today.
