Here's another feather in the cap for the 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid Car: a 2020 Top Safety Pick (TSP) rating by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).Red Honda CR-V Hybrid This makes the CR-V Hybrid join the  impressive CR-V lineup (plus six other Honda models) that have also earned a 2020 TSP rating. The Honda CR-V Hybrid, which was unveiled at the 2017 Auto Shanghai in China in 2017, is the newest addition to the top-ranked CR-V lineup. It's considered part of the fifth CR-V generation for 2017, and is "leading Honda’s electrification plans for 2022", according to UK managing director Dave Hodgetts. The CR-V Hybrid can churn out around 212 horsepower, up from the 1.5-liter turbo's 190 hp. It comes with standard all-wheel drive, and features three drive modes: Zero-emissions Electric Vehicle (EV) Drive (uses the electric motor); Engine Drive (uses the petrol engine); and Hybrid Drive (combination of petrol and electric motor).  Its Multi-Mode Drive technology chooses the best mode, depending on the driving conditions. Honda CR-V Models

All 2020 CR-V models come with Honda Sensing as standard equipment on all the variants. It is also standard on every Honda model. This feature comes with a comprehensive suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies, such as Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) with Pedestrian Detection; Forward Collision Warning; Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) incorporating Lane Departure Warning (LDW); Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS); and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). Honda vehicles also come with Honda's Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure. This feature helps protect occupants in different frontal collision scenarios, and provide advanced restraint systems.

Top Safety Pick Rating

The IIHS Top Safety Pick award is given to vehicles that earn "GOOD" crashworthiness ratings in all test modes, including in the challenging passenger-side small overlap test. A top-rated vehicle must also offer front crash prevention that earns an "ADVANCED" or "SUPERIOR" rating in both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian testing, as well as "GOOD" or "ACCEPTABLE" ratings for available headlights. Meanwhile, the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award is given to vehicles that earn the same GOOD" or "ACCEPTABLE" rating for their standard headlights. Only one Honda model—the Honda Insight—has received the this rating for 2020.
