The Pagani Huayra Roadster BC is an 800-Hp Topless Beauty

Italian-Argentian supercar maker Pagani has just released the Huayra Roadster BC, a convertible version of the famed sports car that’s not only more powerful, but more expensive than those that came before it.

At USD3.5 million (over PHP182 million), Pagani’s latest convertible is easily the most expensive starting price for the Huayra BC ever. Considering that the Huayra Coupe BC is almost USD1 million (PHP52 million) cheaper, the convertible makes quite the leap in value, especially taking into account that they house the same engine in the guise of the AMG-tuned twin-turbo, 6.0-liter V12 that coaxes over 800hp and 1,050 Nm with its seven-speed single-clutch gearbox pairing.

The Roadster BC started life as a one-off project for one particular unnamed Pagani customer. For the price mentioned, the company expressed doubts about making more than one of these hardtop-removable racers. Thanks to well-placed teasers, a good number of customers let Pagani know that they wanted one, and so the company decided to build 40 of these roadsters.

According to the car’s spec sheet, the Roadster BC weighs just 1,250 kgs, which is 30 kgs lighter than the regular Roadster. The weight loss comes courtesy of the wide use of Carbo-Triax HP62 Carbo-Titanium HP62 G2 materials in the monocoque body. Other weigh-reducing features include tubular steel front and rear subframes and a forged aluminum alloy independent wishbone with helical springs and electronic controlled shock absorbers.

Performance-wise, the Huayra Roadster BC can hit 0-100 kph in less than 2.6 seconds while pulling a jaw-dropping 1.9 Gs of lateral acceleration when cornering. That ranks among the highest Gs seen in any production car, if the Roadster BC can even be called that.

As for price-pushing features, some of the most notable additions include a six-pipe titanium exhaust, Alcantara leather upholstery and carbon fiber interior panels, and an exquisitely carved wooden shifter.

With only 40 units to be made, the Pagani Huayra Roadster BC is easily one of the rarest of the rare. The manufacturer hasn’t announced that the car is sold out, so it’s safe to assume some of the cars are still up for grabs.
