KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What is the name of Xiaomi's first EV?

Xiaomi's first EV is named the SU7.
  • How much power can the Xiaomi SU7 make?

The Xiaomi SU7 can make as much as 570 horsepower.
  • According to the Chinese tech company, the Xiaomi SU7 will be able to hit a maximum power output of 570 horses and a maximum torque of 635 Newton-meters thanks to its HyperEngine V8s.

The HyperEngine V8s electric motor is only one of the three engine options that will be made available for the Xiaomi SU7. The other two are the HyperEngine V6 and V6s.

On that note, Xiaomi believes that its electric motors will be able to compete with traditional large V8 and V6 powertrains from the era of internal combustion engines.

Further, the electric motors boast not only speed and torque but also other advanced technologies that make them suitable for Xiaomi’s stylish electric four-door coupe.

For example, the HyperEngine V8s is made with the industry's first ultra-high-strength silicon steel plate with a tensile strength of 960MPa — a strength that the Chinese consumer electronics company states can surpass mainstream industry offerings by more than two times.

Moreover, the top electric engine option for the Xiaomi SU7 will use bidirectional full oil cooling technology, S-shaped oil circuit design, and staggered silicon steel lamination design.

Per Xiaomi, the HyperEngine V8s is in development and set to be mass-produced and implemented in Xiaomi EVs in 2025.

The battery, which will be used for the Xiaomi SU7 is said to be the company’s self-developed unit. Offering a maximum capacity of about 150 kilowatt-hours, the said battery is expected to dish out a maximum emissions-free driving range of around 1,200 kilometers.
