Dodge Challenger

What sets the Dodge Challenger apart from its rival muscle cars is its spacious cabin and good legroom. For an aggressive muscle car, it ensures that all passengers are comfortable and has breathing room. 

This car not only offers a spacious cabin, but also an overall premium feeling. Its interior consists of nappa/alcantara performance seats, door time panel with ambient lighting, premium-stitched dash panel, illuminated cupholders, and exclusive to the driver, an 8.4-inch touchscreen display, a leather performance steering wheel, and a leather-wrapped automatic shift knob. 

It is also equipped with hi-tech features such as a 9-amplified speaker with premium subwoofer system for the GT variant, a 19-speaker premium audio system for the R/T Scatpack Widebody variant, and a Uconnect 4 navigation system among others. These features allow for an enjoyable and convenient ride for everyone. However, similar to other muscle cars, this model also has a slightly-cramped rear area, which could potentially limit the driver’s road visibility from the inside.

The exterior of the Dodge Challenger was designed with an aggressive look, emphasizing the car’s unapologetic personality on the road. This car sports the iconic Challenger script badge on the ride side of its grille. Meanwhile, to easily distinguish between variants, the Challenger GT sports a GT badge on the left side of the grille, whereas the Challenger R/T Scatpack Widebody sports an R/T grille badge on the same location. 

Both variants are equipped with a pair of high intensity discharge headlamps and a pair of LED taillamps, highlighting the car’s all-around powerful and intimidating demeanor. Both variants are also equipped with illuminated door pull handles, body color exterior mirrors, exterior mirrors with heating element, and rear spoilers, which enhance the model’s premium sporty appearance from outside. 

To give the Challenger R/T Scatpack Widebody a more expensive appearance, its rear spoiler is made with a satin black coat and it has an illuminated air catcher headlamp. Additionally, it is sporting a scat pack bee badge on its fender and spoiler, body color handles and fascias, and a center high mount stop lamp. Only the higher variant has DRLs and a bezel on its black grille. However, only the GT variant has front fog lamps.

In order to complete the modern muscle car look, the GT variant is equipped with 20-inch AS performance tires with 20x8 satin carbon aluminum wheels. On the other hand, the R/T Scatpack Widebody variant is equipped with 20-inch performance tires with 20x11 devils rim forged aluminum wheels.

In terms of dimensions, the lower variant is 5,026.66 mm in length, 1,923 mm in width, and 1,465 mm in height. On the other hand, the higher variant has the same length, but is 2,011.68 mm in width and 1,465.58 mm in height.

In terms of suspension, the GT variant is equipped with Dodge’s Sport Suspension system, while the R/T Scatpack Widebody variant has a Widebody Competition Suspension. For a muscle car, this model is relatively comfortable to ride in since its suspension system allows it to have good stability while minimizing the noise coming from its powerful engine.

Performance-wise, the Dodge Challenger will surely make an impact on urban highways. The GT variant is hauled by a 3.6L, 24-valve V6 engine that produces a maximum power output of 304 hp and a maximum torque of 363 Nm. 

Meanwhile, the R/T Scatpack Widebody variant is much stronger. It is hauled by a 6.4L, V8 engine that produces a maximum power output of 485 hp and a maximum torque of 644 Nm. Both run on an 8-speed automatic transmission system. This car is excellent for high-speed driving but not for daily use on busy roads as it has a big appetite for fuel. 

One of the key strengths of the Dodge Challenger is its set of cutting-edge safety features. This car is equipped with all speed traction, electronic stability control, and rain brake support systems, which are all designed to keep the driver and all passengers secured while driving at high speeds. 

This model is also made with sentry key theft deterrent and remote start systems that prevent and combat unauthorized use of the vehicle.

In addition, this car is equipped with brake and parking assistance mechanisms that are crafted to keep everyone safe in any situation while on the go. In terms of braking, the GT variant is equipped with anti-lock 4-wheel disc perf brakes, while the R/T Scatpack Widebody variant is equipped with Brembo 6-pot fixed front caliper brakes. 

Considering the spacious cabin and cutting-edge safety features that this model has, the Dodge Challenger is a great choice among muscle cars if you are not worried about high fuel consumption. Its premium technology and overall performance make up for the expensive price of its R/T Scatpack Widebody variant.
