GWM Cannon Interior
The GWM Cannon model line features a minimalist cabin layout that looks premium for its price. Its cabin has the right balance of soft-touch materials and hard plastics. All variants except for the Lux trim get leather-style seats that are not the plushiest in its segment, but can still provide decent cushioning and ergonomics for everyone on board even on long-distance trips. Upfront, you are greeted by a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display that is equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as Bluetooth connectivity. All variants come with a 6-speaker sound system.
Drivers of the Cannon variants are given a high-tech cockpit, which consists of a 7-inch TFT coloured instrument display, an off-road information display, and a multicontrol leather steering wheel. Meanwhile, owners of the Pilot variant get the 3.5-inch colour + analog version of the instrument cluster.
In terms of practicality and functionality, there is adequate headroom and legroom both in the first and second rows, effectively accommodating five passengers. At the front, the SLux Plus and SLux variants feature a combination of a black grille with a black GWM emblem, which result in a premium-looking, sporty facade. Meanwhile, the base, Lux variant, gets a gloss gray grille with a chrome emblem, which still looks pretty elegant on the road. The Cannon variants all have an assertive flare thanks to LED headlamps and DRLs. They are also given fog lamps for more visibility at night. On the other hand, the Cannon Pilot version has that premium workhorse look, illuminated by halogen headlamps and fog lamps along with DRLs.

GWM Cannon Ride & Handling
In terms of suspension, the GWM Cannon model line utilizes a Double Wishbone at the front and a Leaf Spring Rigid Axle at the rear. This suspension setup allows this truck to confidently handle twisties and winding roads despite its size. Its light steering gives it nimble maneuverability even through tight traffic at low speeds. However, body rolls are noticeable when you are passing through bumpy and uneven concrete pavements. But, overall, this pickup truck can deliver a pliant and very stable ride for all occupants.

GWM Cannon Engine & Fuel Consumption
The GWM Cannon line offers two powertrain options. First, the Cannon variants are powered by a 2.4L turbocharged, 4-cylinder, 16-valve, CRDI diesel engine that produces a maximum power output of 184 PS and a maximum torque of 480 Nm. Meanwhile, the Cannon Pilot variant is powered by the 2.0L version of the same engine, which has a maximum power output of 161 PS and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. The Cannon variants run on a 9-speed automatic transmission system with paddle shifters, while the Cannon Pilot runs on 8-speed automatic transmission. All variants utilize an all-wheel drivetrain with torque-on-demand system.
On the highway, the GWM Cannon line can accelerate effortlessly thanks to its plentiful torque. You’ll be able to easily overtake slower vehicles with this pickup truck. Additionally, it can also take on steep roads. In the city, it has a decent fuel economy even in mixed conditions, making it a feasible driver for your daily commute within the Metro.
