Hongqi EHS7

Inside, the Hongqi EHS7 comes with a minimalist cabin layout complemented by premium woodgrain accents and various creature comforts. Upon entering, drivers are greeted by a high-tech cockpit featuring an expansive 63-inch heads-up display, a digital instrument panel, a leather-wrapped multi-control steering wheel with a sporty, rectangular finish, and a unique-looking dial on its center console.

Meanwhile, all passengers can enjoy a 15.5-inch infotainment display that is equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and is linked to a 19-speaker sound system for the Flagship trim. On the other hand, the Executive trim comes with the 12-speaker counterpart. 

Practicality-wise, its roomy cabin can effectively accommodate five passengers. You also have plenty of space at the back for your groceries and baggage, as well as a decently-sized frunk underneath the hood. Additionally, its leather seats provide all passengers with great cushioning and ergonomics, even on longer trips. The driver’s 12-way adjustable seat also comes with lumbar support for elevated comfort. And, to enhance the overall interior feel, this SUV is equipped with a glass roof.

The Hongqi EHS7 flaunts a smart, modern look that strikes a balance between luxury and high performance. It features a smooth fascia flanked by LED DRLs with a scythe-like shape, along with curved black panels that house the rectangular matrix LED headlights. It also comes with fog lamps for increased visibility, especially at night. And, underneath, it gets functional active vents designed to cool the battery for optimal performance.

Meanwhile, its side profile exudes a clean, futuristic vibe with its flush door handles and floating roof design. Sleek character lines, which further enhance its body paint, add more depth to its silhouette. Additionally, complementing this SUV’s robust yet elegant frame are dynamic-looking 21-inch alloy wheels.

Its smart, futuristic character carries over to the rear. It features a sleek light bar connecting the LED tail lights with a scythe-like shape similar to its headlights. An aggressive-looking spoiler with a high-mount third brake light adds more sportiness to its overall look on the road. This SUV comes with a power tailgate for easier loading and unloading of cargo.

Both trims of the Hongqi EHS7 are 4,925 mm in length, 1,950 mm in width, and 1,680 mm in height. This model line also comes with a 3,000-mm wheelbase and a 160-mm ground clearance.

The Hongqi EHS7 model line is equipped with a Double-Wishbone suspension at the front and a 5-link Multi-Link at the rear. This SUV absorbs bumps and other road imperfections quite well, resulting in a comfortable riding experience for all passengers. Its setup also does a great job concealing its hefty weight, allowing it to hit sharp turns or corners confidently.

The Hongqi EHS7 offers two powertrain options. First, the base Executive runs on a single-motor setup that produces 339 hp of maximum power and 450 Nm of maximum torque. Feeding its electric motor is an 85-kWh battery, offering a driving range of up to 475 km. 

On the other hand, the higher-performance Flagship is powered by a dual-motor setup that boasts 610 hp and 756 Nm of torque. Feeding its dual electric motors is a bigger 111-kWh battery, offering a driving range of up to 540 km. Both batteries can be replenished from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes using a fast charger. Both trims come mated to a single-speed direct-drive transmission. In terms of drivetrain, the higher-spec Flagship runs on all-wheel drive, while the base Executive runs on rear-wheel drive.

The EHS7 model line is a breeze to drive both in the city and on the highway. It runs with immense enthusiasm, effortlessly performing quick overtakes out on the open road. Its automatic transmission is also very smooth. If you frequently visit your relatives in the provinces, you’ll also be able to rely on both trims. However, the higher-spec Flagship just has the upper hand when it comes to both range and performance, showcasing an acceleration time of 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.9 seconds.

Safety is also not an issue for the Hongqi EHS7. It comes with a comprehensive ADAS suite, which includes a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, and lane departure warning, to name a few. Aside from that, this SUV comes with ventilated disc brakes at the front and standard disc brakes at the rear. Its brakes are supported by an anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, a brake assist, and vehicle stability control, among others.
