Lexus NX Overview
In 2022, Lexus strengthened its presence in the country’s developing EV market with the introduction of its NX 350h. The Lexus NX is a compact luxury SUV designed to deliver a more “carbon-neutral” driving experience without compromising performance, offering both efficiency and excitement on the open road. Currently, the Lexus NX 350 comes in two hybrid electric trims, base Executive and higher-spec Premier, and one performance-oriented ICE-powered trim, F Sport. This luxury SUV’s starting price ranges from ₱3.228 million to ₱4.988 million. The NX is available in eleven colours: Sonic Titanium, Celestial Blue Glass Flake, Sonic Copper, Madder Red, and Terrane Khaki Mica Metallic, to name a few.

Lexus NX Interior
The Lexus NX features a subtle, classy cabin design that looks and feels very timeless and luxurious. Upon entering, the driver is greeted by Lexus’ Tazuna cockpit, which is both modern and ergonomic. The driver gets a digital display meter gauge with a multi-information display, a leather steering wheel with control switches and a paddle shifter, a conventional-looking gear lever, and a colour heads-up display with a touch tracing operation feature (exclusive to hybrid Premier and F Sport trims).
For entertainment and information accessibility, the hybrid Premier and F Sport trims feature a 14-inch EMV (electro multi-vision) display, while the base Executive gets a standard 9.8-inch Lexus Display Audio system. The hybrid Executive and F Sport trims’ infotainment displays are linked to a 10-speaker Lexus NX Premium Sound System, while the hybrid Premier showcases a 17-speaker Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound System, delivering high-quality bass and sound acoustics around the cabin.
Practicality-wise, its cabin can comfortably accommodate five adults, while its trunk offers decent space for cargo. The hybrid Premier and F Sport trims also get ventilation and memory functions for their front seats, enhancing the driver’s overall experience on the road. The NX 350 model line also features an E-Latch system for more convenient passenger ingress and egress.

Lexus NX Exterior
The Lexus NX looks assertive and subtle at the same time, designed with a blend of sharp character lines and elegant contours. Its front end is illuminated by 3-projector bi-beam LED headlights with razor-like LED daytime running lights (DRLs), as well as LED fog lamps for increased visibility, especially at night. The hybrid trims feature Lexus’ signature chrome spindle grille, while the F Sport trim is fitted with the blacked-out mesh version for a premium, more high-performance look. The F Sport trim also flaunts an exclusive bumper with sharper-looking proportions.
On the sides, the NX’s silhouette exudes a mix of sportiness and sophistication on the road. The F Sport and hybrid Premier trims are fitted with 20-inch wheels (F Sport: dynamic sports, Premier: alloy), while the base Executive runs on the 18-inch counterparts. The F Sport also flaunts exclusive fender emblems and arch moldings.
Like the front end, its rear also gives off a quiet but confident aura, accentuated by a slim light bar connecting its two sharp L-shaped LED tail lights and a bulky-looking bumper. It is also equipped with a high-mount third brake light and rear fog lamps for added safety and illumination. And, for enhanced passenger convenience and a more premium touch overall, the hybrid Premier and the F Sport come with a hands-free power tailgate with a kick sensor.
In terms of dimensions, the Lexus NX 350 model line measures 4,660 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width, and 2,690 mm in wheelbase. The hybrid Premier and F Sport trims measure 1,670 mm in height and have a 195-mm minimum ground clearance, while the base Executive is 1,660-mm tall and sits 185 mm above the ground.
-
Lexus NX Ride & Handling
The Lexus NX comes equipped with a MacPherson Strut suspension at the front and a Double Wishbone at the rear. The F Sport trim also features an adaptive variable suspension system. That said, this luxury SUV’s suspension does an excellent job smoothing out the humps and ruts it encounters in the city, resulting in a plush riding experience for everyone on board. While it may not be the sportiest through twists and turns, it still handles decently for its size.
-
Lexus NX Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Lexus NX 350 comes in two powertrain options. First, the Executive and Premier trims are powered by Lexus’ hybrid technology that combines a 2.5L in-line 4-cylinder, 16-valve DOHC gasoline engine, which delivers 190 PS of maximum power and 239 Nm of maximum torque, with two permanent magnet synchronous motors, generating 243 PS of total system maximum power. The front motor produces 134 kW and 270 Nm, while the rear motor generates 40 kW and 121 Nm. These hybrid trims come mated to a continuously variable transmission system.
Meanwhile, the F Sport trim runs on 8-speed automatic transmission and is powered by a 2.4L in-line 4-cylinder, 16-valve, turbocharged gasoline engine, delivering a maximum power output of 279 PS and a maximum torque output of 430 Nm. All trims, however, are fitted with an all-wheel-drive technology.
Regardless of the powertrain, this luxury SUV delivers punchy yet manageable power off the line. The hybrid trims feel peppy at high speeds while remaining highly efficient in mixed city driving conditions. However, if you are aiming for a more exhilarating experience, the F Sport trim arguably has the upper hand among the three.
-
Lexus NX Braking & Safety
In terms of safety, the NX comes with Lexus’ Safety System, consisting of a blind spot monitoring system, a pre-collision system, dynamic radar cruise control, lane tracing assist, lane departure alert, automatic high beam, and an adaptive high-beam system, among others.
Additionally, this luxury SUV is equipped with front and rear ventilated disc brakes. Its braking setup is also supported by an anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, a traction control system, vehicle stability control with trailer sway control and active cornering assist, hill-start assist control, as well as a brake assist system.
-
Lexus NX Verdict
The Lexus NX effectively balances driving enjoyment and everyday city usability, making it an appealing luxury vehicle option for families and EV enthusiasts. It is practical, future-ready, and has that timeless luxury look.
