Something straight out of a retro catalogue
For most of my life, I have ridden 90s-era bikes. The Yamaha XSR900 seemed to be a bit of a culture shock. When I saw it for the first time, it looked like something straight out of a retro catalogue. As soon as I twisted the throttle, I was reminded this was a twenty-first-century beast. The multiple ride modes, ride-by-wire throttle, and electronics package were new to me. I still miss my old bike’s mechanical simplicity, but the XSR900 still offers the charm of a classic machine without sketchy braking or carb issues. It’s an ideal bridge between generations.
