Nissan Patrol Royale

Adding to the spectacle inside the Patrol Royale is its amazing entertainment system. The 8-inch LCD with MP3, DVD, and Tuner as well as iPod connectivity is also connected to 7-inch VGA display monitors on the second row. Not only that, but it also has the Nissan Bluetooth Hand-Free Phone System and USB ports for added convenience. It also features a powerful sound experience with 13 premium Bose speakers that were optimally placed around the cabin.

As for comfort, it is equipped with curtain air and upper vents as well as a Dual Zone climate control that allows both the front and rear passengers to set their climate preferences. And it keeps getting better with the car’s memory system, it can allow the passengers to save their preferred driver’s seat position, wheel, mirrors, multimedia, and climate control.

Going through the cargo department, this car promotes easy loading through its auto open/close button for the tailgate while a built-in cooler box is installed in between the driver and the passenger seat where you can store drinks along the way.

Its whole lighting system complements the chrome radiator grille and the aggressive body-colour front and rear bumpers. Overall, despite being outdated, no one can deny that Nissan Patrol Royale is a real head-turner on the road.

This behemoth has an overall length of 5615 mm, an overall width of 1955 mm, and a height of 1955 mm. With its massive size, it can only fit on the Philippine standard parking space sizes. 

Its wheelbase is measured at 3075 mm with a fuel capacity of 95 liters.

The suspension is handled by Independent Double Wishbone with Hydraulic Body Motion Control (HBMC) for superior control on body roll and firmness which makes the ride quality flexible in general.

As for the Noise, Vibration, and Harshness, the insulation for this car is quite superb despite its rugged nature. Handling slopes and hills are also pretty easy through the Hill Start Assist and Hil Descent Control features present.

Employed in this car is the  5.6-litre DOHC, V8, CVTCS, Variable Valve Event & Lift (VVEL) with Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG) that can churn up to 400 horsepower and 560 Nm maximum torque. 

Power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode. Its transmission features “stretch” close gear ratios. Using this technology Nissan Patrol Royale delivers torque faster and more efficiently than ever before.

Meanwhile, its off-road capability is solid to the core with its heavy-duty body frame and improved structural rigidity, the Patrol Royale promises a quality ride with utmost power. The All-Mode 4X4 system ensures Nissan Patrol Royale will be able to grip the road at all times by transferring power between the wheels and axles. Not just that,  the variable 4X4 Mode also allows you to effortlessly switch between four drive modes – sand, on-road, snow, and rock – with just the twist of a switch behind the gear shift.

Brakes are handled by ventilated discs on both front and rear with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD).

Other safety features include front dual, side, and curtain SRS airbags, Brake Assist, Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection (MOD), Corner Sonar, Parking Guide, Rear Differential Lock, Anti-Theft Device with Alarm and Engine Immobilizer.

An added safety feature was employed in this SUV to avoid some incidents of losing control of the car over a slippery road. When a wheel is spinning or slipping, the Helical Limited Slip Differential (H-SLD) and Locking Rear Differential work simultaneously to allow the driver to maintain the momentum on slippery slopes or roads. Meanwhile, the Active Brake Limited Slip (ABLS) utilizes sensors from the ABS to transfer power from a slipping wheel to a wheel with more traction.

Surprisingly, in spite of being rugged in nature, the Nissan Patrol Royale has an interior design and features that are very captivating and amazing. Although we cannot really say a lot about its exterior as well as its engine, which is already powerful as it is, the car’s tech and safety features are definite must-haves. Not to mention that this SUV has a superior off-road capability and cargo space which can definitely make it a tough competitor of Toyota Land Cruiser. Overall, we could say that the price tag is justifiable by its powerful performance, reliable capabilities, and jam-packed advanced features. This car is literally for keeps.
