Jaguar cars for sale in the Philippines
Jaguar is a British brand of luxury and sports cars produced by the multinational car manufacturer, Jaguar Land Rover. In 2008, Indian car company Tata Motors purchased the controlling stake of the company.
This brand has traditionally been known for its elegant styling and sporting performance, traits synonymous with old-world British luxury. Although its owner has changed, the traditional English refinement of the Jaguar is still present in its vehicles today.
Short history of Jaguar
Jaguar initially started as the Swallow Sidecar Company, founded by Bill Lyons and William Walmsley in 1922. The company first started by producing a line of aluminium motorcycle sidecars before it changed into automobile manufacturing under SS Cars in 1933. During the 1960s, the brand was familiarized by pop culture icons such as the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, who once owned Jaguar car models.
Jaguar’s fleet in the Philippines
Jaguar Philippines currently markets four model series in the Philippines: the Jaguar XF, Jaguar XJ, Jaguar XK, and the Jaguar F-Type. Most of these car models have coupe and convertible variants. The XJ series has both a short wheel base and long wheel base variant.
Living up to its reputation, Jaguar has some of the best performance-based vehicles in the country. The Jaguar F Type R, for example, has a supercharged 5.0 liter V8 gasoline engine which pours in 550 horsepower and 680 Nm of torque. It has a top speed of 299 kilometers per hour (kph) and an acceleration of 0-100 kph in 4.0 seconds.
Price range of a Jaguar
A Jaguar, whether brand new or used, usually has a hefty pricetag similar to its competitors in the luxury segment, such as Lexus and Porsche. A brand new Jaguar XKR Coupe with a V8 engine and automatic transmission costs P9.8 million.
On the other hand, a second hand or used XJR built in 1997 can be bought for P1.2 million. This four door sedan has a V6 engine which can supply 390 horsepower.
The Jaguar brand has been in the Philippines since 1997 and has their “Lifestyle Center” in the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
