Pilipinas Shell Hosts Shell Technology Forum, Launches Two New Lubricants

Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation and Shell Global Lubricants recently staged the sixth Shell Technology Forum at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel in Mandaluyong City.

An annual gathering organized by Pilipinas Shell and hosted by Shell Global Lubricants, this year's theme of Synergy: Innovate. Learn. Collaborate. gathered industry and government experts from the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Congressional Committee of Transportation, and Shell technology experts, along with the company's distributors and customers, to showcase the value of synergies as a means to sustain growth among businesses.

The day-long event was composed of plenary sessions, where the government presented the country’s economic outlook, and Shell technology experts showcased the company's technology leadership in lubricants. The sessions highlighted key areas on transport, construction, and general manufacturing, with discussions on lubricants solutions specific for each sector.

"We have invited speakers from government and our experts from the Shell Global Technology team to give us a view of upcoming developments in the economy, the market, and technology so we can prepare for the future," said Shell Cluster Technical Manager for South East Asia and Oceana JP Requejo. "In Shell, we’ve always believed in the power of synergy and strive to work together with our customers to find solutions to your lubrication-related issues, especially those that affect your cost, productivity, and efficiency. That is why we hold events like this to reconnect with key industry players and continue to invest in developing innovative lubricants and services that meet the challenging demands of your operations."

The Shell Technology Forum was also the venue where Pilipinas Shell introduced two new lubricants to the market: the newly-reformulated Shell Rimula R4 L high-performance diesel engine oil and the Shell Tellus S2 MX hydraulic oil, one of the first to meet the new Bosch Rexroth approval standards.

Shell Rimula

Shell Global Lubricants supposedly  tested the Shell Rimula R4 L by running it for over 64 million kilometers, which is the equivalent to driving over 1,500 times around the world "to be able to demonstrate the performance of the next-generation heavy- duty diesel engine oil...without compromising oil life or wear protection."

The Shell Tellus S2 MX hydraulic oil, meanwhile, has proven itself to have excellent wear protection for equipment operating in conditions that are thirteen times more severe than in standard industry tests. The Shell Tellus S2 MX is also proven to deliver oil life that's three times longer than typical industry and Original Equipment Manufacturer limits.
