The collaboration between the two companies last for more than three and half decades.Such a development was announced in a joint statement, saying that the termination of their 35-year partnership (which started in 1990) will take effect on January 1, 2026.
In the said statement, the two noted that the ending of the co-operation reflects the evolving strategies of both companies.
Since their partnership commenced with the opening of Honda Makati in 1990 up to last August, the Ayala subsidiary rolled out more than 220,000 Honda vehicles to its customers.
ACMobility — through Iconic Dealership Incorporated — will continue to manage all its Honda dealerships until December 31, 2025 but will start turning over management and dealership operations of Honda dealerships to new dealer principals towards the end of this year.

“We are grateful, and indeed proud, to have been part of Honda’s journey in the Philippines for the past three and a half decades,” ACMobility Chief Executive Officer Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala was quoted as saying.
“This transition reflects our ongoing effort to optimize our portfolio and focus on new growth areas. Among these are our initiatives in advancing sustainable mobility and electrification, where we continue to build solutions that benefit communities, businesses, and the environment,” he added.
Meanwhile, HCPI President Rie Miyake expressed gratitude to ACMobility for its contribution to the brand for more than 35 years.
“As we work closely with our new dealer principals, we are fully committed to ensuring a seamless transition while upholding Honda’s legacy of excellence, innovation, and outstanding customer service. HCPI will continue to provide the best products and services including an expanding range of electrified vehicles and solutions. We remain firmly committed to Honda’s long-term goals of zero collision and carbon neutrality, advancing safety for everyone and a cleaner environment in the Philippines,” the HCPI chief guaranteed.
The conclusion of the Honda-Ayala alliance broke weeks after Automobile Central Enterprise Incorporated also ended the distribution agreement for Maxus and Volkswagen locally.
This could mean that ACMobility is already pooling its resources to aggressively push for its two remaining brands: BYD and Kia.
BYD Cars Philippines has plans to put up 77 dealerships within the year — about the same range as Toyota Motor Philippines’ network.
