ADVISORY: DPWH to conduct road repairs in NCR until Jul. 18

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will have its weekly road repair schedule on major thoroughfares within Metro Manila starting tonight.

In a statement, DPWH National Capital Regional Director Nomer Abel Canlas said that the road rehabilitation program — which will affect portions of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA), C-5, and Quezon City — will start at 11 p.m..

The DPWH director said that the following segments of the EDSA northbound lane will undergo restoration: along Santolan MRT Station, bus lane; after P. Tuazon flyover to Aurora Tunnel, third lane from center island (fast lane); after Aurora Boulevard to New York Street, third lane from center island (intermittent section); and after Kamuning Road and Kamias Road to JAC Liner Bus Station, beside center island.

The DPWH shared that repair works along EDSA southbound lane will be from Balingasa Creek to Oliveros Footbridge in Quezon City.

Meanwhile, the agency will also work on the second lane of C-5 southbound in Makati City.

Further, the portion of Quirino Highway before reaching Manila North Diversion Road (MNDR) Flyover, second inner lane; as well as sections of Balintawak Cloverleaf going to North Luzon Expressway (northbound and southbound) are to be mended over the weekend.

Due to the anticipated traffic build-up at the aforementioned areas, motorists are advised to take possible alternate routes.

The affected road sections will be reopened to traffic on Monday (July 18), 5 a.m..
