Private motorists (two and four-wheel vehicles) who will be caught violating the latest road ruling in the area will face a P500 penalty while apprehended public utility vehicle drivers need to settle P1,200.
Based on the data from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), a total of 21,676 vehicles were flagged down since the dry run started on March 9 up to yesterday (March 26) 4,760 were motorcycle riders while 16,916 were private four-wheeled vehicles.
Yesterday, the last day of the dry-run period, had the lowest number of violators recorded with only 95 incidents (23 motorcycle riders and 72 four-wheel drivers). The peak, on the other hand, was on Day 9 (March 17) wherein a total of 2,235 motorists were flagged down (627 riders and 1,608 drivers on four wheels).

Earlier, MMDA Acting Chairman Romando Artes said that the dry run extension was done to give way to the patching works on the road as well as to give motorists more time to be familiar with the policy.
The road repairs were made in response to the agency’s request based on motorists’ concerns posted over social media, Artes said.
