Honda Philippines Inc. (HPI) has announced that the all-new PCX160 is now available in dealerships, after being unveiled to the local market last March.

The coming of this premium scooter is set to stir up the segment anew, and is expected to clash heads with long-time rival, the Yamaha Nmax, which also had its update three months back.

“So, if you’re one of those who are eyeing to purchase the all-new PCX160, you can now visit the nearest Honda dealership in your area or anywhere across the country to buy and experience its all-new features that make for its elegance and superiority,” HPI claimed in its statement.

Powered by a bigger-displacement four-stroke, 157ccfour-valve, liquid-cooled, single overhead cam (SOHC), Enhanced Smart Power+ (ESP+) engine, the all-new PCX160 offers a peak output of 15.8hp.

Also, the premium scooter is capable of delivering 45.1 kilometers per liter (kpl). To match to the fuel-efficiency ability, the all-new PCX160 has an idling stop system (ISS). For comparison, the 150cc version with eSP  has the capacity to deliver a 43kpl reading. The motorcycle gets an eight-liter fuel tank.

The new LED head and taillight designs give the all-new PCX160 a revitalized look, to match the hazard lamp. It sits on tubeless tires (110/70-14 MC in front and 130/70-13 in the rear) and gives its rider improved visibility with the full digital meter panel.

It has a front pocket sufficient to hold a 1.7 liter bottle, and USB-type power outlet to conveniently charge a mobile device while on the road. Its 30-liter utility box gives riders bigger storage space.

For its safety features, the all-new PCX160 is fitted with a smart key with an anti-theft alarm, and an answer-back system.

Further, the all-new PCX160 is offered in two brake variations—the anti-lock brake system (ABS) type and the combi-brake system (CBS). Both variants are equipped with front and rear disc brakes.

The ABS variant comes with the Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), guaranteeing smooth stops even during sudden brakes and added wheel traction in slippery road conditions. Meanwhile, the CBS variant combines its front and rear brakes for a smoother operation and handling while braking.

The all-new PCX ABS is offered at an introductory price of ₱133,900 and the CBS option at ₱115,900. These are offered in four colors namely:

  • Asteroid Black Metallic (ABS)
  • Pearl Fadeless White (ABS)
  • Matte Dim Gray Metallic (CBS)
  • Pearl Fadeless White (CBS).

HPI President Susumu Mitsuishi expressed pride over the all-new premium scooter’s availability in local dealerships.

"At Honda Philippines, we share the same love for motorcycles as Filipinos do. The all-new PCX160 will not only embody our love for motorcycles but will also take motorcycle riding in the country to the next level," Mitsuishi was quoted as saying.
