Apex Teases Hyper-EV AP-0
When you think of hypercars, you may think of brands like Koenigsegg and Bugatti. But Apex Performance Cars LTD, an England-based prestige and sports car dealer is planning to enter the big leagues with the AP-0.
After unveiling the Apex AP-1 last year, the company is about to showcase their next vehicle, the AP-0 at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show. Apex classifies the AP-0 as a “hyper EV”, and clocks in at 2,646 lbs (1,200 kg). To put it into perspective, the small, lithe Alfa Romeo 4C weighs about 2,500 lbs, or 1,132 kg. The light weight of the car can be attributed to its carbon fiber chassis, which not only saves a lot of weight, but also provides extra structural rigidity.
There is not much knowledge about the AP-0’s specs and features, but we expect it to be similar to its older brother, the Apex AP-1. The AP-1 is equipped with formula race inspired suspension and chassis design, a high performance powertrain and carbon fiber chassis. The AP-1 sports a roofless design, with a 2.3 liter Ford EcoBoost turbocharged engine, making about 400 hp. It can reach neck breaking speeds of 280 kp/h.

We assume that the AP-0 will share some of the same features with the AP-1, but is an entirely different car overall, based on the teaser photo. The AP-0 silhouette suggests a coupe configuration instead of being roofless, along with a slightly different front fascia and a spine on the back end.
More details will follow as Apex premieres the AP-0 at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show.
