Cashless public transit transactions will be more rewarding now that AF Payments Inc. have announced that they will reward frequent users of 'beep' cards when using them on the commute.

From August 22 to November 22, beep users can get more out of their daily commute by earning reward points that they can redeem for beep load using the beep mobile app.

To note, beep cards can be used on EDSA buses, modern jeepneys and other PUVs as well as Metro Manila trains such as the LRT1, LRT2, and MRT3.

Customers may opt to refresh their credits at any LRT or MRT station, EDSA bus stops and select P2P terminals, or in FamilyMart and Ministop branches in Metro Manila.

To join their latest Rewards promo, commuter cardholders must download the beep app on their mobile phone and register the card they are using. The mobile app can accommodate up to five cards to be registered. However, points are individual and cannot be combined with other cards.

According to beep, P1 spent using the registered cards at participating buses, PUVs, and retail stores in NCR equates to 1 point earned. They also added that only eligible transactions using genuine beep cards can earn from this promo.  Reward redemption is done on the app. may be successfully claimed via beep™ e-load stations.

Trains and reloading transactions are not included.

To give you an idea on how much rewards you need to earn look at this: a customer should have at least 1,000 points to be able to redeem P10 load.

AF Payments Inc. Chief Commercial Officer Sharon Fong noted the need for contactless payment during these times.

“Cashless payments are ideal, especially at this time, because it helps us avoid physical contact with money or transport tickets where viruses may thrive. We’d like to do our part by promoting the use of the beep payment system not only for the convenience of passengers and efficiency for transport operators, but as a means to prevent the spread of diseases as well. We thank the commuters for their cooperation and understanding as we support the transition to new and better systems that can address the challenges we are facing today,” Fong said.
