Bugatti Releases Ultra Exclusive Book

The Last Bugatti Racing Cars is Bugatti’s coffee table book that documents the comprehensive history of the EB110. And it costs €1,100.   The Bugatti EB110 is a mid engine sports car that was manufactured from 1991 to 1995. The predecessor of the legendary Veyron, it was the only Bugatti production model manufactured from when Romano Artioli’s tenure as the company’s owner.

The Bugatti team started developing the car way back in 1988. After three years of conceptualization, the first generation EB110 was first presented in front of the Grande Arche de la Défense, near Paris, France in 1991, on the 110th birthday of Ettore Bugatti, the company’s founder.

The EB110 uses a 60 valve, quad turbocharged V12 engine that comes mated with a 6 speed manual transmission. This engine puts out a total of 553 hp and 611 Nm of torque, which may seem like normal supercar numbers now, but thirty years ago, it was extremely groundbreaking. The EB110 can go from a complete standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. Putting it into perspective, the latest Aston Martin Vantage also has the same 0-100 km/h time, while the latest BMW Z4 reaches 100km/h 0.2 seconds slower.

The EB110 raced at Le Mans in 1994, competing in the GT1 Class. Another EB110 competed at the 1996 24 Hours of Daytona. These two EB110s are considered to be the last Bugatti race cars of the modern era. The brand has not entered a competitive racing series since 1996.
