  • How many motorists is expected to benefit from the CALAX Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange completion?

Some 5,000 motorists could benefit from the soon-to-open portion of Cavite-Laguna Expressway.
  • What are the ongoing construction activities in the area?

The construction activities for the aforementioned portion include the development of the toll plaza, concrete pouring for the main line and median barriers, as well as various finishing works.
  • Without sharing the estimated date of completion, Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South) shared in a statement that the soon-to-open CALAX Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange is currently 91-percent complete.

To recall, the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) subsidiary announced last June that the aforementioned portion is 80-percent finished.

Also, MPT South noted that the CALAX Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange will provide a crucial connection to the Aguinaldo Highway, known to be Cavite’s busiest highway. Once it opens, the said portion of the expressway is expected to cater to 5,000 motorists on a daily basis.

According to the tollway operator of the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), CAVITEX C5 Link segment, and CALAX, its ongoing construction activities in the area include the development of the toll plaza, concrete pouring for the main line and median barriers, as well as various finishing works. “In the upcoming phases, the focus will be on the construction of toll facilities, including road lights, signages, and sound barriers. Additionally, preparations for the toll collection system are also underway,” the company added.

Relatedly, the toll firm said that CALAX will further expand to a total of 45 kilometers by next year and will feature eight interchanges: Technopark, Laguna Boulevard, Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road, Silang East, Silang (Aguinaldo), Governor's Drive, Open Canal, and Kawit Interchange. It will connect to the CAVITEX-Kawit section. Currently, its operational segments stretch from Mamplasan Rotunda up to Silang East Interchange.
