Changan Auto adds X7 Plus to PH roster

Changan Auto has added the X7 Plus to local offerings — expanding its roster to six nameplates.

The seven-seater sport utility vehicle (SUV) — known as Oshan X7 Plus in markets abroad — has joined the Chinese automaker’s lineup previously made up of Alsvin, CS35 Plus, CS55 Plus, Uni-T, and Uni-K.

Inchcape Philippines, the brand’s newest local distributor, shared that the Changan X7 Plus is 4,730 millimeters (mm) long; 1,870 mm wide; and 1,720 mm tall.

The newly-revealed offering is fitted with matrix LED daytime running lights and, multi-tiered LED headlamps that flanked the jewel-like pattern on its front grille.

Aside from that, the SUV has a sunroof, chrome-plated ornamental exhaust tip, red accents, and 19-inch air turbine alloy wheels.

The Changan X7 Plus’ interior is equipped with a 12.3-inch infotainment system and seven-inch digital cluster display. Its dashboard comes with piano black and brushed metal accents.

Meanwhile, the electronically-adjustable front seats (six-way for the driver, four-way for the front passenger) has a with a manual heating/cooling system while second- and third-row seats have the capacity to provide a generous cargo space if folded down flatly.

The Changan X7 Plus is powered by a Bluecore 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that can deliver as much as 185 horses and 300 Newton-meters of torque. It is matched to a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission with Tiptronic technology. The mill has three drive modes (Eco, Normal, and Sport) and comes with a start-stop feature.

In addition, the Changan X7 Plus has a generous number of technologies that include hill-hold and hill-descent control, electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic parking brake with auto hold function, smart keyless entry, push start button, and tire pressure monitoring system.

Furthermore, the newly-unveiled model also offers a built-in digital video recorder, reverse camera, and parking sensors, 360-degree panoramic camera with four wide-angle cameras, and a myriad of advanced driver assist technologies such as dynamic radar cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and electronic brakeforce distribution.

The Changan X7 Plus has suggested retail price of P1.58 million — with a limited-time P80,000 discount for cash buyers.
