MANILA: BYD Cars Philippines, under the stewardship of ACMobility, delivered a one-two punch in the form of the all-new Atto 2 and the refreshed Seal 5 DM-i.

BYD Atto 2
Previewed at the recently held Manila International Auto Show, the all-new BYD Atto 2 is offered in either a fully electric or hybrid format.
Emissions-free enthusiasts can get the electric vehicle (EV) variant with a single electric motor powered by a 41.1 kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery. With power sent to the front wheel axle, it delivers some 174 horsepower (hp) and 290 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque with a range of 380 kilometers (km) on a single charge.

This version of the model gets a smaller battery rated at 7.9 kWh and is able to put out 162 hp and 300 Nm with an all-electric range of 45 km (1,045 km combined).
Notable features include LED illumination, power-folding side mirrors (EV), and 16-inch (EV) or 17-inch (DM-i) wheels. The cabin also comes with leather upholstery, automatic climate control, an 8.8-inch digital gauge cluster, and a 12.8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a six-speaker sound system.

The BYD Atto 2 will set car buyers back some P1.338 million for the EV variant. Meanwhile, the hybrid model is priced from P1.048 million to P1.258 million.
BYD Seal 5 DM-i
BYD Cars Philippines has updated the Seal 5 DM-i. Of the major differences between the incoming and outgoing models is that the former now packs an improved powertrain that dishes out 161 hp and 210 Nm with an all-electric range of 55 km and a combined range of up to 1,600 km.

Those sitting inside are treated to leather-upholstered seats, soft-touch panels, and an automatic climate control system. They will also enjoy the car’s 8.8-inch digital gauge cluster and 10.1-inch head unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
