Chery Auto PH's 'rebranded' Tiggo rEV now more affordable

MANILA: The Chery Tiggo rEV in the Philippines has been made easier on the wallet with its newer version.

Now sold as Chery Tiggo rEV Luxury Edition (LE), the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle is being retailed P120,000 less compared to its predecessor as it can be had for P1.528 million.

To recall, the previous version is offered with a P1.648-million price tag.

In an interview, Chery Auto Philippines (CAP) Brand Head Franz Decloedt told Carmudi Philippines that the latest offering is the firm’s way of making the seven-seater “more accessible to Filipino families.”

Amid having a lowered price tag, the United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated-led distributor claimed that the all-new Tiggo rEV LE is “a full-featured vehicle that delivers premium features and intelligent technology.”

“CAP’s best-selling Tiggo rEV takes a bold leap forward in its LE version, delivering premium hybrid innovation and elevated features at an exceptionally competitive price point. With the Tiggo rEV LE, CAP is offering the future of family mobility that is engineered to lead,” the  noted in a statement.

Here’s what customers will get should they opt for the all-new Tiggo rEV LE.

Powering the vehicle is the familiar 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with advanced Dual Motor (C-DM) technology mated to a dedicated hybrid transmission that can provide:

Maximum output (in horsepower)	201
Peak torque (in Newton-meters)	310

The aforementioned mill configuration is paired with an 18.66-kilowatt-hour battery, which gives the crossover a combined of as much as 1,400 kilometers. This can be juiced up using Type 2 or CCS2 chargers.

Welcoming occupants inside the Chery Tiggo rEV LE’s cabin are the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and 15.6-inch floating infotainment display (Wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android Auto) matched to a Sony 12-speaker surround sound system.

Other amenities outfitted in the Chery Tiggo rEV LE include:

• Hidden-type exterior door handles
• Head-up display
• Ventilated front seats
• Remote engine start with brake pedal trigger
• Smart proximity key access
• Panoramic sunroof

Meanwhile, the Chery’s updated product also has driver assistive systems such as:

• Adaptive cruise control
• Autonomous emergency braking
• Lane departure warning system
• Rear cross traffic alert
• Blind spot monitoring

These functions are complemented by the 540-degree camera system with dynamic guidelines, as well as a built-in front digital video recorder.
