Cleanfuel is aiming to grow 1,000 Philippine hardwood tree seedlings by the end of the year.In a statement, the independent fuel company shared that the initiative — done in partnership with the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office — is eyed to restore the natural ecosystem of the environment as well as promote sustainable land management practices.
Cleanfuel Brand Marketing Head Kristoffer Lim told Carmudi Philippines that a total of 50 volunteers participated in the program held in Barangay Sto. Nino in Tanay.
Some 500 seedlings of Mahogany, Narra, Acacia, Ipil, and other Philippine hardwood trees were planted around the nature reserve in the area.
According to Lim, the program is in line with the government’s National Greening Program for environmental stability and conservation.
This is not the first time that we supported environmental CSR (corporate social responsibility) initiatives. We at Cleanfuel know the impact of adopting sustainable practices and promoting biodiversity that would positively impact the coming generations,” Lim said.
“We target to increase our planted Philippine hardwood tree seedlings to 1,000 by the end of the year to strengthen landfill rehabilitation and combat climate change,” he added.
