Rino Abad cited how DOE was able to lower the pump prices in Baguio City and Palawan. They are also working to achieve similar results in Bohol and Marinduque.
According to the Oil Management Bureau Director, they talked to the local government and the local oil players and presented analytical figures to the concerned parties.
Atty. Abad was one of the guest speakers who spoke at the first half of the event themed “Road to a More Sustainable Economic Development.”
Also present was Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary Maria Catalina Cabral and Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) President George Barcelon.
Usec. Cabral discussed linking opportunities for accessibility and supply chain access while Barcelon enlightened participants on bringing the transport sector aboard to a future-proof economy.
They were joined by Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP) President Digs Dimagiba, Infobip Philippines Country Director Charist Montenegro, and Metro Pacific Tollways (MPT) Mobility Assistant Vice President Donald Saurombe. The three respected speakers took over the second half of the event’s conference.
Dimagiba talked about building trust in today’s digital ecosystem and Montenegro gave insights on expanding transport communities through messaging. Finally, Saurombe presented smart urban mobility and transport industry as a model of future-forward partnership.

The Transport Con also hosted officers and owners from the country’s biggest transport organizations including the Confederation of Truckers Association of the Philippines (CTAP), Nagkakaisang Samahan ng Nangangasiwa ng Panlalawigang Bus sa Pilipinas Inc. (NSNPBPI), Inland Haulers and Truckers Association (INHTA), Alliance of Concerned Truck Owners and Organizations (ACTOO), and Haulers and Truckers Association in the Watersouth, Inc. (HATAW).
