Five Things You Should Know about the 2020 Hyundai Creta

How long would it take for India to get a glimpse of the second generation Hyundai Creta? It won't take that long--around 2-5 days, depending on which date you plan to attend the Auto Expo 2020 (February 7 to February 12).

Of course, this won't prevent us from giving you a bit of teaser on what's in store for the newest Creta. Here are five things you should know about this Korean subcompact crossover:

It's Related to Kia Seltos

Did you know that Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos are related? In fact, the 2020 Creta will be hugely based on the upcoming Kia Seltos. They're classed as cousins (even siblings), and shares many similarities with each other--from their engine platform, chassis, to even their cabin layout.

Still, that doesn't stop them from being in fierce competition with each other. They're direct competitors, with Hyundai Creta currently having a smaller edge compared to Seltos.

New Engine Range

Creta will now feature new BS6 engines that are similar to Kia Seltos. Offered with a standard 6-speed manual and automatic variations, there will also be a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) option for the petrol, a 7-speed DCT with the turbo-petrol, and a 6-speed Automatic added in the mix.

Beefier Features and Technology Specs

Those who like more features in their car will enjoy this SUV's added features, such as the Blue Link Connection car technology that offers 33 features alone. There's also the eSIM included in the infotainment system. These features offer drivers and passengers a lot of benefits, such as tracking location, driving telemetrics, and even engine health.

The Creta also has internet-based features, such as remote engine start-stop and cabin pre-cool (with automatic options).

Its Exterior Design is New

There are a lot of changes in Creta's design, particularly its size. Now longer and wider, it also has grown some muscles on the side to achieve a more robust look. The front features Hyundai's cascading grille, and split LED headlamps with LED slits above them.

One notable feature that was added on the rear end are split tail lamps, giving it an edgier facade compared to the previous generation.

New Cabin Dimension and Layout

We've said earlier that the Creta will grow in size. Not surprisingly, Hyundai has designed the cabin's layout to maximize this additional space without changing the number of seats. The result? A five-seater SUV with a more spacious cabin to move about and store things inside.
