Geely opens Cebu dealership

The local distributor of Chinese automotive manufacturer Geely has formally tapped the Visayas market as they have opened their latest dealership in Cebu.

During the weekend, Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP) announced the opening of Geely Cebu, which is strategically-located on M.C. Briones Street, Maguikay, Mandaue City, Cebu.

Geely Cebu is under Gateway Group of Companies, SGAP’s dealer-partner for Geely Lipa, Batangas, which opened last year.

Gateway Group President Markane Goho claimed that such partnership was forged and the latest dealership opened as they see the rising potential of the brand in the country.

“We foresee that Geely will soon be another successful brand in the local auto industry which is the reason why we are confident in working with SGAP to open more outlets for this fast-rising auto brand,” he said.

Back in 2020, Geely made it to the top 10 ranking of most number of passenger vehicles sold, based on the reports from both Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors, Inc. (AVID).

For his part, Meantime, SGAP President Mikihisa Takayama lauded the Gateway Group over the latest dealership opening.

 “I wish to congratulate Gateway group for opening this flagship Geely showroom in Cebu.  I am sure that the shareholders and management of Gateway Group are proud of this as this dealership was built in your very own hometown,” Takayama was quoted as saying.

“This facility is a testament to the long-term commitment of the Geely brand to serve the Cebuanos. I am confident that the Cebuanos will not only be enticed by the exciting Geely vehicles that await them but will also be impressed with the world-class facility Geely Cebu has to offer”, he added.

Geely Cebu is now open from Mondays to Saturdays, 8AM to 6PM.
