MANILA: Geely Philippines has formally brought to the local market the EX5 EM-i.
Serving as the plug-in hybrid electric version of the EX5, the latest addition to the Chinese automaker’s lineup in the country is said to be the result of two decades’ worth powertrain technology development.

As mentioned, the Geely EX5 EM-i comes with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. It is made up of a 1.5-liter engine and an electric motor in an E-DHT 11-in-1 hybrid drive configuration.
Photo by Cesar Guiderone MiguelThis setup offers an overall range of 943 kilometers (km), including an emissions-free range of 83 kilometers km (based on Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure standards). With this, the estimated fuel efficiency is 16.1 kilometers per liter.
The energy bank can be directly juiced up using a direct current (DC) CCS2 port, which can power up the battery from 30 to 80 percent in 20 minutes. This portion is complemented by a regenerative braking system.

The three-level ventilated front seats have an ergonomic design that offers a “zero-sensation relief layer.”

Additionally, the Geely EX5 EM-i features a “camping space function,” which transforms the car's interior into a relaxing space through subtle adjustments to its screen backgrounds, music, and ambient lighting system. This complements the model’s vehicle-to-load (V2L) function.
