HCPI to field Makati dealer service advisor at 2023 Honda World Skills Contest

Honda Cars Philippines, Incorporated (HCPI) is set to field its Makati dealership service advisor Elijah Dave Villan to the upcoming World Skills Contest to be held in October 2023 in Japan.

In a statement, the Japanese automaker’s local distributor said that the Honda Cars Makati dealer personnel will don the country’s colors after taking the top spot in the service advisor category at the recently-concluded Honda Asia and Oceania Skills Contest held last May 17 in Malacca City, Malaysia.

As HCPI explained, the Service Advisor category highlights service reception and delivery processes, including advanced diagnosis, work-up recommendations, repair works, releasing of the vehicle, and booking the next periodic maintenance visit. It also demonstrated the use of state-of-the-art equipment that accurately identifies issues with vehicles and provides recommendations for repairs.

To note, Villan was with the aforementioned dealership since 2016 where he started his career as a technician.

“The skills competition is among Honda’s initiatives to ensure superior customer satisfaction through our Dealers and their dedicated staff who are our partners. Through national, regional, and global contests, dealer associates advance their technical and service skills. The program also gives them more joy at work because it widens their perspective on the importance of what they do, and how they genuinely help promote quality and safety while providing service, HCPI President Rie Miyake was quoted as saying.

 “Congratulations to all the participants, and to Mr. Elijah Dave Villan of Honda Cars Makati for advancing in the Honda World Skills Contest,” she added.

Prior to advancing in the global meet, Villan bested other competitors in the 23rd National Skills Contest organized by HCPI in February 2023. Joining him are fellow topnotchers in the nationwide contest namely:
